Real Involvement

Special Olympics Windsor is a volunteer driven organization and is always in need of new and interested volunteers. There is the need to fill many different volunteer positions such as coaches, official, fundraisers, administrator and event organizers. If you are interested in becoming involved, Special Olympics Windsor would welcome your commitment. No Experience Needed

If you are interested in getting involved, Special Olympics Windsor wants you. Special Olympics Ontario provides training opportunities for volunteers in both administrative roles and athlete coaching roles. Athletes with an intellectual disablitity are no different than any other althlete, they need training, support and encouragement. The Special Olympics guiding principles for sport development is that all athletes deserve trained coaches and volunteers. Secondary students, 16 years and over, interested in fullfilling their community service hours are encouraged to join the team.

We currently have openings on our Community Council for the positions of Treasurer and Event Coordinator. We ask that applicants have access to a personal computer, email and be willing to dedicated some time to the organization.

The Treasurer's position is responsible for keeping a record of financial activities. We are also looking for a event planner to help organize special events and banquets. This is a wonderful opportunity for University students to gain experience volunteering for an internationally recognized charitable organization. If you are interested and would like to get involved we'd love to hear from you.
