Welcome to Special Olympics Windsor

Special Olympics Ontario is a registered Canadian charitable organization, of which Special Olympics Ontario-Windsor is an active community program. We provide year-round athletic training and sports competitions to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics athletes will have the opportunity to compete in a number of sports at a variety of levels that accommodate a diverse range of abilities.

Year End Banquet

The Year End Banquet for all athletes, families and coaches is being held Friday, June 11th at the Knights of Columbus, 152 Lesperance Rd. Doors will open at 5pm, dinner will be served at 6pm. Ticket are $12.00 Adult, $10.00 Athlete/or Children under 10. There will be a pasta dinner, cash bar, special awards and dancing. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a good time with friends and family! Contact Cindy Labreque at 519 736-8582 or by email for ticket information.

Volunteers Needed

Special Olympics Windsor is overseen by a working group of volunteers who form the Community Council. The Community Council holds meetings on a monthly basis. We currently have openings on our Community Council for the positions of Treasurer and Event Coordinator. We ask that applicants have access to a personal computer, email and be willing to dedicated some time to the organization.

The Treasurer's position is responsible for keeping a record of financial activities. We are also looking for a event planner to help organize special events and banquets.

We are always looking for good coaches. If you are interested in being part of this great organization please forward your coaching interest to the Volunteer Coordinator.
